Workplace Benefit Solutions (WBS) founded in 2016 specializes in supplemental voluntary and/or employer-paid benefits. Employers need to attract and retain quality employees. Our mission is to partner with employers, employees, and benefit colleagues to provide first-in-class supplemental benefit value tailored to group needs and affordability. Meet Michael Wolkoff

Michael Wolkoff

After graduation from the University of Cincinnati in 2004, Michael Wolkoff entered the business world. In his management experience he found that employee productivity was affected when faced with accident or illness and not having the means to pay for out-of-pocket costs not covered by health insurance. It was this experience that led to the perfect fit to join Workplace Benefit Solutions in 2014. As out-of-pocket costs continue to escalate, he understands that supplemental benefits provide the solution not only for employees but equally for employers to attract and retain quality employees.

With his interest in technology Michael felt that to best serve our clients and prospective ones, enrollment processes needed to be streamlined to best serve the needs of employers and their employees. Michael’s drive to find a solution resulted in WBS’ acquisition of an online enrollment platform that not only allows employees to enroll in benefits on their own time with agent assistance available if needed but also affords employers the opportunity to utilize a highly comprehensive HRIS platform.

After a successful career of more than 30 years, Marlene Guttman retired on September 1, 2025. Following her retirement, Michael Wolkoff became the President and Owner of Workplace Benefit Solutions.


 

Meet Howard Wolkoff

Howard Wolkoff

Howard Wolkoff brings more than three decades of experience to the insurance industry, with over 32 years of continuous licensure in the State of Ohio across Life and Health as well as Property and Casualty insurance. Throughout his career, Howard worked in both sales and customer service roles, helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate complex insurance decisions with clarity and confidence. His experience representing a wide range of nationally recognized insurance organizations provided him with broad insight into policy design, underwriting standards, and client needs across multiple lines of coverage. While Howard has since retired from active insurance production, he remains an integral part of the organization. He has joined Workplace Benefit Solutions as the Office Administrator, where his decades of industry knowledge and operational experience continue to support the team and enhance the overall client experience.
